Prairie Shine started with a simple goal: creating a healthier home and a more sustainable way of living for our family. Our family has always loved homesteading and learning how to be more self-sufficient, and that passion led us to start making small changes at home and living a little more intentionally.
As we learned more, we started creating and testing eco-friendly household products for our own family. Then friends and family started trying them too and encouraging us along the way. At the time, we never imagined any of it becoming a business. We were simply creating products we felt good about using in our own home while building something meaningful together.
Life was busy — balancing work, becoming parents, and all the everyday chaos that comes with it — and Prairie Shine slowly became something we could grow together as a family. What started around our kitchen table with ideas, testing, and lots of trial and error slowly turned into something bigger.
Even our name has a special meaning to us. My husband and his family are from the Midwest, and the prairie feeling of wide open spaces, simple living, hard work, and strong family roots helped inspire the name. "Shine" represents what we hope our products bring into homes — a clean, fresh space that feels good for your family and the people you love most.
A few years later, here we are — turning a small idea and a shared dream into reality. Prairie Shine is built with heart, family values, and a passion for creating eco-friendly household products that families can feel good about using every day.
